OUR SIRES
Winter Is Coming Khal “Drogo”
Black Great Dane • Foundation Sire
O.F.A. NUMBER *GD-17924E42M-C-VPI
Meet Drogo
Drogo is where our story begins.
He has been the sire behind every litter we’ve produced through October 2026, making him an important part of the foundation of Winter Is Coming Great Danes.
Personality
• Extremely loyal and devoted to his family
• A true Velcro Dane who wants to be right beside his people
• Affectionate and goofy, with a big personality
• Can be incredibly gentle, but occasionally forgets just how big he is
• Highly food motivated and eager to engage
What We Love About Him
Drogo has the confidence and presence you expect from a Great Dane, paired with the affectionate, people-loving personality that makes the breed so special.
When we’re outside, Drogo wants to be right in the middle of it with us. He’s happiest when he’s close to his people and involved in whatever we’re doing.
The Great Dane
Known as the “Apollo of Dogs,” Great Danes are admired for their:
Impressive size • Elegance • Loyalty • Affection • Gentle nature • Devotion to family
Drogo embodies so many of these qualities and has helped establish the temperament and personality we value in our program.
Our Foundation Sire
Drogo is more than a breeding dog. He is family. His role in our program and the litters he has helped produce make him a very special part of the Winter Is Coming story.
Big in stature. Big in personality. Completely devoted to his people.
Winter Is Coming "Rhaego" Son of Drogo
Harlequin Great Dane • Future Sire • Son of Sansa & Drogo
Meet Rhaego
From the moment Rhaego was born, Brittany knew there was something incredibly special about him. Out of our very first litter, there was simply something about this boy that was different.
Rhaego is Brittany’s heart dog.
Keeping him from that first litter remains one of the very best decisions we have ever made.
His Personality
Rhaego has a heart of gold and a personality that makes him impossible not to love.
• Incredibly loving and affectionate
• Playful, goofy, and full of personality
• Exceptionally devoted to his people
• The most spoiled of all our dogs—and he knows it
• Loves his blankets
• Believes he is human about 80% of the time
His goofy side keeps us laughing, while his gentle nature makes him an incredible companion. He has also become Brittany’s emotional support and constant companion, always seeming to know when she needs him close.
The Dane We Strive For
Rhaego represents many of the qualities we hope to carry forward in our breeding program.
His temperament, devotion, playfulness, and affectionate nature are exactly the characteristics we value in the Great Dane. He has that perfect combination of a goofy personality and gentle companionship that makes living with a Dane so special.
At just two years old, Rhaego has already reached the height of his daddy, Drogo, giving him an impressive presence to match his personality.
Joining Our Program
In 2027, Rhaego will officially become part of our breeding program, continuing the bloodline that began with his parents, Sansa and Drogo.
We are excited to see what the future holds for this very special boy and to potentially carry his temperament, personality, and loving nature forward into future generations of Winter Is Coming Great Danes.
Our First-Litter Keeper
Our life with Great Danes simply would not be complete without Rhaego.
He started out as one of our very first puppies, but quickly became so much more. He became our boy, our spoiled, blanket-loving giant, and an irreplaceable part of our family.
Keeping Rhaego was the best decision we made from that first litter, and we wouldn’t change it for anything.
OUR DAMS
Winter Is Coming
"Sansa" Stark
Blue Harlequin Great Dane • Foundation Dam
Meet Sansa
Sansa is where it all began.
She was the dog who showed us what Great Dane love is truly about and started our journey with this incredible breed. Before there was Winter Is Coming Great Danes, there was simply Sansa.
Her Personality
Sansa is our goofy, clumsy, 160-pound house cow who has absolutely no idea how big she is.
-
Sweet and incredibly loving
-
Loyal to her family
-
Naturally goofy and entertaining
-
Affectionate, but never demanding
-
Independent and happy doing her own thing
She has a way of making us laugh without even trying, while still being the kind of dog you can always count on to be nearby.
What Makes Her Special
Sansa has taught us just how extraordinary the bond with a Great Dane can be. She loves her people deeply, but she also has an independent streak and is perfectly comfortable doing her own thing.
That combination is uniquely Sansa.
Where It All Started
Sansa isn’t simply one of our breeding dogs—she is the reason our journey began.
She became our first Great Dane, our first dam, and the beginning of our first litter. She also gave us Rhaego, who would become an incredibly important part of our family and future program.
Everything that became Winter Is Coming Great Danes started with this big, goofy, loving girl.
Our first Great Dane. Our foundation. Our Sansa.
Winter Is Coming
"Arya" Stark
Blue Great Dane • Dam
Meet Arya
Arya is our gentle soul. She carries herself with a quiet confidence that often makes her seem like the oldest sibling of the group.
She is incredibly loving with her family, but she also isn’t afraid to put the other dogs in their place when necessary.
Her Personality
-
Loving and affectionate
-
Extremely loyal
-
Confident and self-assured
-
Loves to cuddle
-
Happy to curl up and relax
-
Not afraid to keep the others in line
Arya can ball herself up in one spot and stay there for hours, perfectly content to enjoy her own little corner of the world.
What Makes Her Special
Arya has a steady, dependable presence. She doesn’t need to be the center of attention, but she always seems to know what’s happening around her.
Her combination of loyalty, confidence, and a gentle nature is something we deeply value in our program.
Our Gentle Soul
Arya brings a sense of calm to our family while still having enough personality to make sure everyone knows where they stand.
Quietly confident. Deeply loyal. Completely Arya.
Winter Is Coming Rains of Castamere "Cass"
Blue Tan Point Great Dane • Future Dam
Meet Cass
Rains of Castamere, affectionately known as Cass, is a little different from the rest of our Great Danes—and that’s exactly what makes her special.
She is more petite in build and has more of the classic American Great Dane look, giving her a distinct appearance within our program. Her beautiful blue tan point coloring makes her stand out even more.
Her Personality
Cass is our energetic, playful girl who is always ready to have a good time.
-
Full of energy and personality
-
Always ready to play and horse around
-
Fun-loving and outgoing
-
Sweet and gentle when she settles down
-
Loves to cuddle
-
Has absolutely no concept of personal space when it’s time to sleep
When the day winds down, Cass shows her softer side. Her favorite place to sleep is right on top of her person, as if being close isn’t enough unless she’s completely on top of you.
What Makes Her Special
Cass brings something different to our program. Her petite build, American-type appearance, playful temperament, and sweet nature give her a unique place among our Great Danes.
She has the energy to keep everyone entertained, but underneath that playful personality is a gentle, affectionate girl who loves her people just as much as she loves to play.
Future Plans
We hope to begin breeding Cass in early 2027, and we are excited to see what she may bring to future generations of Winter Is Coming Great Danes.
We love that she is a little different—and we believe individuality, wonderful temperaments, and sound breeding choices are all important parts of building our program.
