The Heart of Our Home:
Brittany & Adam's Story
Our journey into Great Danes didn’t begin with a business plan, a breeding goal, or a vision for a kennel.
It began with a dog named Sansa.
Brittany had always loved Great Danes and dreamed of having one, but it simply wasn’t possible until she and Adam met. When the opportunity finally came, they made the drive to meet Sansa and her siblings. It was supposed to be a simple visit.
It wasn’t.
They immediately fell in love with Sansa and her little blue sister, and choosing between the two was nearly impossible. In the end, Sansa came home with them that night.
They quickly discovered something special about Great Danes. Sansa was incredibly affectionate, loyal, and happiest when she was right beside them. They fell completely in love with her—and with the breed.
The very next day, Brittany jokingly told Adam they needed to go back and get Sansa’s sister.
Adam didn’t hesitate.
“Let’s go get her.”
And just like that, Arya became part of the family too.
Then came Drogo, because when you have two girls, apparently you need a boy—and according to Brittany, Adam “needed his dog.”
From there, it became what we lovingly call chaos and love.
Our Family, Our Home, Our Danes
Our home is anything but quiet.
We currently have 17 dogs that we love deeply—7 Siberian Huskies, a Micro Bully, a Dachshund, a Pit Bull, and 7 Great Danes.
Our journey with dogs actually began with Siberian Huskies, and although we no longer breed Huskies, they remain deeply loved members of our family. They were an important part of the journey that eventually led us to where we are today.
Our Great Danes simply stole our hearts.
Over the years, what started as a love for one giant dog grew into a genuine passion for the breed and a desire to share the incredible experience of living with these gentle giants with other families.
Our dogs are family first. They live alongside us, share our home, and are deeply woven into our everyday lives.
And that philosophy carries directly into the way we raise our puppies.
Why We Breed
We never set out to become Great Dane breeders.
We simply fell in love with Great Danes and eventually realized that we wanted to help other families experience the incredible bond we had found with this breed.
For us, breeding is about far more than producing beautiful puppies.
We believe every breeding decision carries a responsibility. We carefully consider the dogs being bred and place a strong emphasis on health and temperament, while also considering genetics, structure, longevity, color and pattern, pedigree, and overall quality.
Our goal is to raise Great Danes who are not only beautiful, but who have the foundation to become confident, loving, loyal companions and cherished family members.
Raised in Our Home
Our puppies are raised in our home, surrounded by our family and exposed to the sights, sounds, and routines of everyday family life.
Although our adult dogs are part of the environment they grow up in, our litters are kept safely separated from the adult dogs unless interactions are intentional and closely supervised. This allows our puppies to benefit from a home-based environment while maintaining the safety, cleanliness, and structure we believe every litter deserves.
Our puppies receive daily handling and meaningful human interaction from the very beginning. Our children are involved in their lives, and puppies experience the everyday sounds, routines, and activity that come with growing up in a busy family home.
We also incorporate Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) during the critical early developmental period, along with age-appropriate socialization and continued exposure to new experiences as they grow.
We believe these early experiences help give puppies a strong foundation as they transition into their forever homes.
More Than a Puppy
A Great Dane isn’t just a beautiful dog.
They become part of your family.
They follow you from room to room. They lean against you when they want affection. They somehow manage to take up an entire couch while believing they are lap dogs. They become part of your routines, your memories, your photographs, and eventually, some of your most treasured moments.
That is what happened to us.
And that is what we hope to give to the families who welcome one of our puppies into their lives.
The Legacy of Sansa
Sansa will always hold a special place in our story.
She was the beginning.
Through Sansa and Drogo, Brittany experienced something she never expected—a heart dog. A dog whose place in your heart is so special that no other dog could ever replace it.
That experience changed everything.
It showed us just how deeply a Great Dane can become connected to a family, and it created a desire to share that same kind of unconditional love and loyalty with others.
Every puppy we raise carries a little piece of the love, lessons, and passion that began with Sansa.
From Our Family to Yours
When you bring home a puppy from Winter Is Coming Great Danes, we don’t want that relationship to end when you leave our home.
We want you to become part of our extended family.
We want to see the updates, celebrate the milestones, admire the ridiculous Great Dane pictures, hear the funny stories, and be there when you have questions.
We don’t want to be the breeder you bought a puppy from.
We want to be the people you can always come back to.
Because when we place one of our puppies with your family, we aren’t simply saying goodbye to a puppy.
We’re trusting you with a piece of our heart.
And our hope is that, in time, that puppy becomes the member of your family you never knew was missing.
